My dad's, however, seems to go back a ways. Lots of Scots Irish, English, and probably other parts of the British Isles as well.

I'd happily get lost in the archives of the LDS church, even if I do know the odd little theological quirk that led them to create it (short version: "posthumous conversion for all ancestors of current Mormons," which gets them into trouble every couple of years when they decide to do that to all the Jews who died at Auschwitz). Ancestry.com is an LDS company, if I remember that right. Someday when I have time I will sign up.

I'll keep my airpack handy!Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03463621516644789183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5977625681756554695.post-39513372421523711722017-12-02T16:11:17.095-06:002017-12-02T16:11:17.095-06:00The Genealogy Bug bit me back in the late 1980s. From there on back is a blank wall.

My Maternal family line is purely Swiss/German. And always in that order. Traced that family back to Origin in 1362.

The BIG ONE was my chosen moniker. The Lucy name comes from my Dad's mother's line. Linked to but never confirmed to be actual English Royalty, dating all the way back to the year 1060.

http://www.rickmansworthherts.com/webpage4.htm

(You may not want to visit that site. It's huge, and it is real easy to get lost in there ... even if you're not related!)

When the Genealogy Bug moved in, I lost about 9 months of free time. Salt Lake City is home to the LDS Church, and one of the largest genealogy research centers in the world. You can get lost in there, to!

Genealogy. It's fun. It's fascinating. It's time & resource consuming. And probably what bestowed upon me my enduring fun with OCD. Keep a snorkel handy and remember to come up for air and re-socialization with your family from time to time.

Hoppy Hunting.

LucyLucyInDisguisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08169432604954981941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5977625681756554695.post-33438632913460522572017-12-02T14:24:58.730-06:002017-12-02T14:24:58.730-06:00Not yet!
