The other two for her class were for "sustained effort" and "excellent progress throughout the year". This roughly follows the standard format: one for academic achievement, one for effort, and one for being an all round good egg. Magnus's was the Davis Maths Cup for "exceptional attainment in maths" (the British word for mathematics). He made the final of the Dauntseys Dodecahedron math competition this year - he's in Year 6, and it's for kids year 6-8. The schools send their best mathematicians - about 1000 kids - and around 30 make the finals. So we are just oozing parental pride. And we're so pleased you could come!
